When went to see an allergy specialist (after being referred by our doctor) we were advised about how wearing the wrong tights can cause eczema irritation.
The dyes used in the tights can cause skin irritation which in turn with eczema affected skin, increases the irritability, leading to increased scratching.
My daughter’s black tights worn during colder months to school, seemed to correlate with an increase in scratching. Initially we thought it was just down to the weather and the drop in temperature.
But now thinking to what the allergy specialist says, it makes perfect sense. So we’re going try a set of tights which do not have these dyes in and see whether there is an improvement.
